Coastal Dance and Music Academy proudly announces the formation of the newest ballet company on the Central Coast ~ Coastal Chamber Ballet. We are seeking both male and female dancers, with classical training in (but not exclusive to) the following areas: Ballet, Pointe, and Partnering.  

Skills shown in audition will determine placement in the following levels:

1. •    Full Company
   

2. •    Pre Company
   

3. •    Trainee
   

Performance experience is a plus. Successful applicants will train under the tutelage of Artistic Director Molly McKiernan. If you are looking for an opportunity to showcase your talent and learn in an environment that will critique and grow your skills in a fair and positive light, and you are willing to work hard towards your own goals and ours, we invite you to audition.

Class Requirments

1. •Tuesday 5:30 - 7:00 pm: Ballet 3
   

2. •Tuesday 7:00 - 7:45 pm: Pointe
   

3. •Saturday  9:00-11:00 am:  Advanced Technique
   

Plus a minimum of one advanced class of your choice. Classes recommended are:

1. •Contemporary
   

2. •Lyrical
   

3. •Modern
   

Dancer’s attending an advanced ballet class at either Alan Hancock College or Cal Poly may use it in place of one of the above, with proof of enrollment.

Company Policy

If you need to miss a required class for a personal reason, which should be only of the utmost importance, you can arrange with the teacher to do a make-up in a different class as long as you are not missing choreography. 

The only excused absences from required classes or rehearsals are for the following reasons and must be called in to the Coastal Dance and Music Academy office at 489-5678, or cleared with the instructor/choreographer before class time. Please also list any known excused absences on the Company calendar in Studio A. Be aware that even if you have an excused absence, if you miss choreography you may be excluded from the piece (choreographer discretion). There are no excused absences from performances.

The following are excused absences:

1. •Injury
   

2. •Illness
   

3. •Unavoidable work schedule
   

4. •SAT /PSAT testing
   

5. •Family emergency
   

6. •Jury duty
